New Delhi:

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh has declared a one-day quick until tomorrow, expressing anguish over opposition assaults in parliament.

Harivansh introduced his quick shortly after he met eight Rajya Sabha opposition members protesting on the lawns within the parliament complicated and supplied them tea, a gesture that the protesting parliamentarians snubbed.

In a letter to Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Harivansh wrote that he “will observe a one-day quick until tomorrow as he was anguished over opposition assaults within the Home”.

On Sunday, opposition members upset with Harivansh for rejecting their name for division of votes on the farm payments that had been handed by voice vote, rushed to the centre of the Home and protested. Two members climbed a desk in entrance of him, a member flung a rule guide and papers had been torn.

“No matter occurred, I’ve been extraordinarily anguished, in psychological misery, and have been unable to sleep for the previous two days,” Harivansh wrote in his letter.
