The FBI is investigating a hearth set on Sunday in a Boston poll drop field holding over 120 ballots, with Massachusetts election officers describing the incident as a “deliberate assault”.
The hearth was set early Sunday exterior the Boston Public Library downtown, in line with the workplace of William Galvin, Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth.
There have been 122 ballots contained in the field when it was emptied Sunday morning, and 35 have been broken, Galvin’s workplace stated.
Galvin and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh referred to as the incident a “shame to democracy, a disrespect to the voters fulfilling their civic responsibility, and against the law.”
