NEW DELHI: The central authorities awarded a complete of 322 initiatives for the development of 12,413 km roads underneath the ‘Bharatmala Pariyojana‘ until August, stated an announcement issued from the Ministry of Street Transport and Highways on Sunday.
Until August, 2,921 km highway has been constructed underneath the mission. The Ministry of Street Transport and Highways has taken up detailed overview of National Highways community and has given general funding approval for Bharatmala Pariyojana Part I Scheme for improvement of about 34,800 km (together with 10,000 km residual NHDP stretches) at an estimated outlay of Rs 5,35,000 crore.
Bharatmala Pariyojana is an umbrella program for the highways sector that focuses on optimizing effectivity of freight and passenger motion throughout the nation by bridging essential infrastructure gaps by efficient interventions like improvement of Economic Corridors, Inter Corridors and Feeder Routes, Nationwide Hall Effectivity Enchancment, Border and Worldwide connectivity roads, Coastal and Port connectivity roads and Inexperienced-field expressways.
