Mumbai: A 22-year-old man was arrested from Nagpada in south Mumbai for allegedly violating the lockdown order and social distancing guidelines by celebrating his birthday on the road in his space together with his mates and bursting crackers, police stated on Sunday.
The accused, Hammad Ansari, who claims to be a social employee, was arrested on Saturday after he shared a video of his birthday celebration on social media, a police official stated.
“Hammad Ansari celebrated his birthday together with his mates in the course of the intervening night time of Friday and Saturday at Madanpura. They burst loud fireplace crackers and Ansari reduce a cake on the road,” the official stated.
“By their acts, they violated the social distancing guidelines and the lockdown order. Within the video that Ansari had posted on Fb, he boasted about how he celebrated the birthday regardless of the restrictions,” he added.
