NEW DELHI: The Reserve Financial institution of India (RBI) on Tuesday mentioned that the financial coverage committee (MPC) meet can be performed from October 7 to October 9.
The assembly — which was earlier scheduled to be held from September 29 — was postponed because the central financial institution was awaiting the appointment of latest member to its committee.
“The following assembly of the Financial Coverage Committee (MPC) is scheduled throughout October 7 to October 9, 2020,” the RBI mentioned in an official launch.
In a late evening notification on Monday, the federal government appointed three economists — PMEAC member Ashima Goyal, NCAER’s Shashanka Bhide and IIM-Ahmedabad professor Jayanth Varma — as new members of the RBI’s MPC to determine on rates of interest. All new members have been given a four-year time period.
The panel is chaired by RBI governor Shaktikanta Das with deputy governor Michael Patra and the manager director in control of financial coverage as its members.
The brand new members substitute Chetan Ghate, Pami Dua, and Ravindra Dholakia. They had been appointed on the panel for 4 years on September 29, 2016.
